Needs Vs Wants
100.00 ₹
Mahira and Shivay were siblings. Mahira was nine years old and loved to learn new things. Shivay was five years old and loved to play. One day, Shivay saw a new toy and insisted on buying it. Mahira thought, "This is the perfect time to teach him about needs and wants." Mahira sat Shivay down next to her. "Shivay, do you know what needs are?" she asked. "Needs are things we can't live without, like food, water, and a home." "And what are wants?" Shivay asked. Mahira explained, "Wants are things we like to have, but we can live without them, like a new toy or lots of candies." The next day, they went to the market with their mother. Mahira told Shivay, "Come on, today we'll find needs and wants in the market." Shivay saw fresh vegetables at the vegetable stall. "Didi, food is our need!" he said happily. Mahira smiled, "Absolutely right, Shivay!" Then they passed by a toy shop. Shivay saw a shiny robot. "This is my want, Didi!" he said, but this time he didn't insist. Mahira explained, "When we have less money, we should first fulfill our needs, and then if money is left, we can think about our wants." Shivay nodded. He saw a small water bottle that he needed, and he didn't take the toy. On their way home, Shivay was very happy. He had learned from his Didi how to tell the difference between needs and wants, and how important it was!
